“Trailer was great. We took it on a 4,500 mile journey We had some circumstantial issues on the road with the trailer. We lost a few lugs (and almost a tire) so we had to pay $800 for a mobilehub / stud repair in UT Separate from that, we hit some highway debris in AZ and broke a fender and some wiring. We came to a quick resolution with the owner on the repairs and he was more than reasonable. Nice trailer. Tough trip. ”

Choosing the Right Trailer to Rent in Norco

From horse shows and equestrian outings to landscaping projects and equipment hauling, Norco renters should check trailer capacity, street parking restrictions, and local disposal requirements. Run through these before you send a rental request.

  • Size and capacity: match deck length and payload to your biggest item, and leave room to strap it down safely.

  • Weight and brakes: stay within the trailer's rated load and your vehicle's tow rating, and keep tongue weight around 10 to 15 percent of the total. Under California Vehicle Code Section 26302, most trailers manufactured and first registered after January 1, 1966, with a gross weight of 3,000 pounds or more require brakes on at least 2 wheels. Different requirements apply to travel and camp trailers.

  • Street parking: Norco generally prohibits leaving an unattached trailer on a public street, alley, or other public area except during active loading or unloading and certain other limited circumstances. Check where you can park your trailer before bringing it home.

  • Equestrian access: Norco maintains designated horse trails, neighborhood arenas, and equestrian staging areas. Review the city's trail system information before towing horses to a trailhead, and confirm that your destination accommodates trailers.

  • Heavy vehicle routes: Norco designates specific routes for vehicles exceeding certain weight limits, with exceptions for qualifying deliveries, recreational towing, and agricultural transportation. Check the applicable restrictions before moving heavy machinery or livestock through residential streets.

  • Hitch, chains, and wiring: confirm the ball size (usually 2 inches, or 2-5/16 for heavier trailers), your hitch class, and that the trailer's plug matches your vehicle. Cross the safety chains under the tongue.

  • Ramps and loading: for anything you roll or drive on, check for a ramp gate or low deck height; for tall or awkward loads, check deck width and tie-down points.

  • Open vs. enclosed: open trailers load fast and cost less; enclosed trailers protect cargo from inland Southern California's dust, wind, and occasional heavy rain.

  • Get your questions answered: check the listing details first, and ask Toby, the towlos virtual assistant, anything else. After you submit a rental request, you can message the Host in towlos Chat to confirm dimensions, hitch, delivery, and anything specific to your load before they approve it.

From horse shows at Ingalls Event Center to landscaping projects and regional motorsports, these are the most common reasons Norco renters book a trailer, and the type that fits each job.

  • Horse shows and equestrian competitions. Norco's Ingalls Event Center features arenas, corrals, staging areas, and facilities for equestrian activities. Horse trailers and livestock trailers help participating riders transport animals, while enclosed cargo trailers can carry tack, equipment, and supplies.

  • Horseback riding on local trails. Norco maintains an extensive network of designated equestrian trails throughout the city. Horse trailers help transport animals and riding gear to approved staging locations and nearby equestrian facilities.

  • Rodeos and western events. Norco's annual Day of the Cowboy Rodeo features events such as barrel racing, roping, and bull riding. Horse and livestock trailers can help approved participants transport animals, while cargo trailers are useful for permitted event supplies and equipment.

  • Ranch maintenance and animal care. Norco's animal-keeping properties often require equipment for fencing repairs, stable maintenance, and landscaping. Utility trailers, dump trailers, and equipment trailers can transport fencing materials, tools, feed supplies, and other suitable loads.

  • Home renovations and landscaping. Homeowners tackling remodeling, yard cleanup, and property improvements can use dump trailers for eligible debris and utility trailers for mulch, plants, gravel, and building supplies. Riverside County's waste disposal guidance provides information about landfill facilities and accepted materials.

  • Moving furniture and household belongings. Residents relocating around Norco and surrounding Riverside County communities can use enclosed trailers for furniture, appliances, and boxes. Utility trailers accommodate larger items that can be securely secured and protected as needed.

  • Community gatherings and celebrations. Norco's community events calendar includes outdoor concerts, holiday activities, and western-themed celebrations. Enclosed cargo trailers and utility trailers can help approved vendors and organizers transport tables, displays, tents, and event equipment.

  • Sports equipment and tournaments. The Wayne Makin Shearer Sports Complex includes athletic fields and event facilities. Utility and enclosed trailers can help authorized teams and organizers transport sports equipment and supplies.

  • Motocross and recreational vehicle hauling. Norco's location in the Inland Empire provides access to regional motorsports destinations. Utility trailers, motorcycle trailers, and enclosed cargo trailers can transport dirt bikes, motorcycles, and riding equipment.

  • Cars, machinery, and project vehicles. Car haulers, tilt-deck trailers, flatbeds, and equipment trailers help transport restoration projects, non-running vehicles, and compact machinery around Norco. Match the trailer's payload rating, loading equipment, and tie-down points to the load before requesting.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to rent a trailer in Norco?
Daily rates on towlos typically range from $35 to $120 depending on trailer type and size. Utility trailers are the most affordable; enclosed, dump, and specialty trailers cost more. Prices are set by individual owners, and many offer weekly or multi-day discounts.
How do I book a trailer on towlos?
Search by location and dates, browse available trailers, and submit a booking request. The owner confirms availability and payment is processed securely. You'll receive pickup details once confirmed, most rentals are locked in within an hour.
Is damage insurance provided on towlos?
Yes. Every booking on towlos with an eligible trailer is backed by towlos Protect+, which provides coverage for physical damage to the trailer during your rental. Coverage details and limits are shown on the booking page. Review the towlos Insurance page if you have questions about what's included.
Do I need additional insurance to rent a trailer?
Requirements vary by owner. Some carry their own coverage; others ask renters to show proof of auto insurance. Check the listing details or message the owner before booking. Towlos Protect+ covers damage to the trailer, but your auto policy may be needed for liability.
What kind of hitch do I need?
Most utility trailers use a standard 2" ball hitch. Car haulers and heavier trailers may require a 2-5/16" ball. Check the listing specs and confirm with the owner that your vehicle's hitch class and tow rating are compatible before booking.
What size trailer do I need for a one-bedroom apartment move?
A 6×10 or 6×12 open utility trailer handles most one-bedroom moves, furniture, boxes, and appliances. If you have bulky items or a large couch, consider a 7×14 or larger. When in doubt, size up, it's easier to have extra space than to make two trips.
Do towlos hosts offer delivery in the Norco area?
Some do. When searching, look for listings that mention delivery or message the owner directly. Delivery is especially useful if you don't have a truck or hitch set up. Many local hosts are flexible and happy to arrange drop-off for an additional fee.
Can I rent a trailer one-way?
Most towlos rentals are round-trip, you pick up and return the trailer to the same owner. Some owners allow one-way arrangements; contact them directly to ask. If you're relocating, it's worth messaging a few hosts to see who can accommodate.
