“Trailer was great. We took it on a 4,500 mile journey We had some circumstantial issues on the road with the trailer. We lost a few lugs (and almost a tire) so we had to pay $800 for a mobilehub / stud repair in UT Separate from that, we hit some highway debris in AZ and broke a fender and some wiring. We came to a quick resolution with the owner on the repairs and he was more than reasonable. Nice trailer. Tough trip. ”

Choosing the Right Trailer to Rent in Rowland Heights

Before renting a trailer in Rowland Heights, make sure it fits your load, towing vehicle, and travel plans. Run through these before you send a rental request:

  • Trailer type. Utility trailers work well for landscaping equipment and general hauling. Enclosed trailers protect belongings from the weather, while dump trailers are useful for renovation debris and property cleanups.

  • Size and capacity. Check trailer dimensions, payload capacity, and loading space to make sure everything fits safely.

  • Tow vehicle compatibility. Confirm your vehicle's towing capacity, hitch size, electrical connection, and brake controller requirements.

  • Loading and unloading. Look for ramps, tie-down points, loading gates, or hydraulic dump features depending on what you need to transport.

  • Weight and brakes. Calculate the total loaded weight, including materials and equipment, and confirm your trailer's braking requirements before towing.

  • County waste collection services. Rowland Heights is an unincorporated Los Angeles County community, so waste services and bulky-item collection should be confirmed with the property's assigned collection provider. Arrange appropriate pickup or disposal before hauling furniture, appliances, or large cleanup loads.

  • Construction and demolition debris. Remodeling materials such as drywall, lumber, roofing, and concrete may require separate disposal arrangements. Confirm your chosen facility accepts the specific materials and allows your rental trailer before loading.

  • Puente Hills disposal facility. The Puente Hills Materials Recovery Facility in nearby City of Industry accepts qualifying self-haul loads. Fees and material requirements apply, and customers must wear safety vests when outside their vehicles at the facility.

  • Hillside recreation access. Peter F. Schabarum Regional Park features hiking, biking, and equestrian trails. Confirm designated parking and unloading areas before transporting bicycles, riding equipment, or event supplies to the park.

  • Get your questions answered. Review the trailer listing and submit a rental request on towlos to connect with the Host and confirm any remaining details before pickup.

Common Reasons to Rent a Trailer in Rowland Heights

From home renovations and landscaping projects to equestrian activities and local business deliveries, here are common reasons Rowland Heights renters book a trailer and the types that fit each job.

  • Home renovations. Transport cabinets, flooring, lumber, appliances, and suitable remodeling materials for residential projects throughout Rowland Heights using utility or enclosed trailers. Dump trailers can help with approved debris loads when proper disposal is arranged.

  • Landscaping projects. Haul mulch, soil, plants, branches, retaining wall materials, and gardening equipment for hillside properties and residential yards using utility or dump trailers.

  • Household and apartment moves. Move furniture, mattresses, boxes, and other belongings between homes, apartments, and storage facilities in Rowland Heights, Hacienda Heights, and Diamond Bar using an enclosed cargo trailer.

  • Construction and contractor work. Transport tools, building materials, and jobsite equipment for residential and commercial projects throughout the eastern San Gabriel Valley using utility, equipment, or enclosed trailers.

  • Schabarum Regional Park activities. Carry bicycles, athletic equipment, picnic supplies, and approved event materials for outings at Schabarum Regional Park. Confirm event permissions, parking restrictions, and unloading arrangements before arriving.

  • Equestrian recreation. Transport horses and riding equipment to approved equestrian facilities using a properly equipped horse trailer. Los Angeles County identifies Rowland Heights Loop Trail as suitable for horseback riding, but trailer parking and horse unloading must be arranged separately.

  • Vehicle transportation. Move classic cars, motorcycles, project vehicles, or non-running vehicles using a properly rated car hauler or motorcycle trailer.

  • Property and garage cleanouts. Remove unwanted furniture, stored belongings, and suitable yard debris using utility or dump trailers. The Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts maintain information on active disposal and transfer facilities to help plan a self-haul trip.

  • Equipment transportation. Move compact tractors, skid steers, commercial mowers, and other machinery between properties or jobsites using an appropriately rated equipment trailer.

  • Business and commercial deliveries. Transport merchandise, furniture, restaurant equipment, vendor displays, and bulky supplies for businesses along Colima Road, Nogales Street, and the surrounding commercial corridors using enclosed cargo or utility trailers.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to rent a trailer in Rowland Heights?
Daily rates on towlos typically range from $35 to $120 depending on trailer type and size. Utility trailers are the most affordable; enclosed, dump, and specialty trailers cost more. Prices are set by individual owners, and many offer weekly or multi-day discounts.
How do I book a trailer on towlos?
Search by location and dates, browse available trailers, and submit a booking request. The owner confirms availability and payment is processed securely. You'll receive pickup details once confirmed, most rentals are locked in within an hour.
Is damage insurance provided on towlos?
Yes. Every booking on towlos with an eligible trailer is backed by towlos Protect+, which provides coverage for physical damage to the trailer during your rental. Coverage details and limits are shown on the booking page. Review the towlos Insurance page if you have questions about what's included.
Do I need additional insurance to rent a trailer?
Requirements vary by owner. Some carry their own coverage; others ask renters to show proof of auto insurance. Check the listing details or message the owner before booking. Towlos Protect+ covers damage to the trailer, but your auto policy may be needed for liability.
What kind of hitch do I need?
Most utility trailers use a standard 2" ball hitch. Car haulers and heavier trailers may require a 2-5/16" ball. Check the listing specs and confirm with the owner that your vehicle's hitch class and tow rating are compatible before booking.
What size trailer do I need for a one-bedroom apartment move?
A 6×10 or 6×12 open utility trailer handles most one-bedroom moves, furniture, boxes, and appliances. If you have bulky items or a large couch, consider a 7×14 or larger. When in doubt, size up, it's easier to have extra space than to make two trips.
Do towlos hosts offer delivery in the Rowland Heights area?
Some do. When searching, look for listings that mention delivery or message the owner directly. Delivery is especially useful if you don't have a truck or hitch set up. Many local hosts are flexible and happy to arrange drop-off for an additional fee.
Can I rent a trailer one-way?
Most towlos rentals are round-trip, you pick up and return the trailer to the same owner. Some owners allow one-way arrangements; contact them directly to ask. If you're relocating, it's worth messaging a few hosts to see who can accommodate.
