“Trailer was great. We took it on a 4,500 mile journey We had some circumstantial issues on the road with the trailer. We lost a few lugs (and almost a tire) so we had to pay $800 for a mobilehub / stud repair in UT Separate from that, we hit some highway debris in AZ and broke a fender and some wiring. We came to a quick resolution with the owner on the repairs and he was more than reasonable. Nice trailer. Tough trip. ”

Choosing the Right Trailer to Rent in Hacienda Heights

Before renting a trailer in Hacienda Heights, make sure it fits your load, towing vehicle, and travel plans. Run through these before you send a rental request:

  • Trailer type. Utility trailers work well for landscaping equipment and general hauling. Enclosed trailers protect belongings from the weather, while dump trailers are useful for renovation debris and property cleanups.

  • Size and capacity. Check trailer dimensions, payload capacity, and loading space to make sure everything fits safely.

  • Tow vehicle compatibility. Confirm your vehicle's towing capacity, hitch size, electrical connection, and brake controller requirements.

  • Loading and unloading. Look for ramps, tie-down points, loading gates, or hydraulic dump features depending on what you need to transport.

  • Weight and brakes. Calculate the total loaded weight, including equipment and materials, and confirm whether trailer brakes are required.

  • Los Angeles County bulky item collection. Hacienda Heights is an unincorporated Los Angeles County community. According to the county's bulky item disposal guidance, most residents can arrange up to 4 free bulky waste pickups annually through their waste hauler. Check eligibility and collection limits before renting a trailer for a household cleanout.

  • Puente Hills disposal options. The Puente Hills Landfill permanently closed in 2013, but the Puente Hills Materials Recovery Facility remains available for qualifying waste loads. Confirm accepted materials, trailer requirements, and disposal fees before hauling renovation debris.

  • Equestrian trailer access. Nearby Peter F. Schabarum Regional Park has equestrian trails, staging areas, and riding facilities. Confirm designated horse trailer parking and current trail conditions before transporting horses or riding equipment.

  • Get your questions answered. Review the trailer listing and submit a rental request on towlos to connect with the Host and confirm any remaining details before pickup.

From home renovations and landscaping projects to equestrian recreation and community events, here are common reasons Hacienda Heights renters book a trailer and the types that fit each job.

  • Home renovations. Transport cabinets, flooring, lumber, and suitable remodeling debris from residential properties throughout Hacienda Heights using utility or dump trailers.

  • Hillside landscaping projects. Haul decorative rock, mulch, soil, retaining wall materials, tree trimmings, and landscaping equipment to properties near the Puente Hills using utility or dump trailers. Check the trailer's payload capacity before loading heavy materials.

  • Moving furniture. Move furniture, mattresses, boxes, and household belongings between homes, apartments, and storage facilities in Hacienda Heights, La Puente, and nearby Rowland Heights using an enclosed cargo trailer.

  • Construction and contractor work. Carry tools, building materials, and jobsite equipment to residential and commercial projects throughout Hacienda Heights and the eastern San Gabriel Valley using utility, equipment, or enclosed trailers.

  • Schabarum Park recreation. Transport mountain bikes, picnic equipment, and outdoor supplies for trips to Peter F. Schabarum Regional Park using a utility or enclosed trailer. The park has hiking, biking, and horseback riding trails along with developed recreation areas.

  • Vehicle transportation. Move classic cars, motorcycles, project vehicles, or non-running vehicles using a properly rated car hauler or motorcycle trailer.

  • Property and garage cleanouts. Remove unwanted furniture, stored belongings, and suitable yard debris from residential properties using utility or dump trailers. Verify disposal requirements before hauling waste.

  • Equestrian activities. Transport horses to designated staging areas at Schabarum Regional Park using a properly equipped horse trailer. Los Angeles County's equestrian recreation guidelines explain trailer staging and multi-use trail arrangements.

  • Equipment transportation. Move compact tractors, commercial mowers, skid steers, and other machinery between properties or jobsites using an appropriately rated equipment trailer.

  • Community gatherings and park events. Transport approved tables, tents, decorations, and event equipment for gatherings at Schabarum Regional Park and other nearby community facilities using enclosed cargo or utility trailers. Confirm reservations, permissions, and unloading arrangements before arrival.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to rent a trailer in Hacienda Heights?
Daily rates on towlos typically range from $35 to $120 depending on trailer type and size. Utility trailers are the most affordable; enclosed, dump, and specialty trailers cost more. Prices are set by individual owners, and many offer weekly or multi-day discounts.
How do I book a trailer on towlos?
Search by location and dates, browse available trailers, and submit a booking request. The owner confirms availability and payment is processed securely. You'll receive pickup details once confirmed, most rentals are locked in within an hour.
Is damage insurance provided on towlos?
Yes. Every booking on towlos with an eligible trailer is backed by towlos Protect+, which provides coverage for physical damage to the trailer during your rental. Coverage details and limits are shown on the booking page. Review the towlos Insurance page if you have questions about what's included.
Do I need additional insurance to rent a trailer?
Requirements vary by owner. Some carry their own coverage; others ask renters to show proof of auto insurance. Check the listing details or message the owner before booking. Towlos Protect+ covers damage to the trailer, but your auto policy may be needed for liability.
What kind of hitch do I need?
Most utility trailers use a standard 2" ball hitch. Car haulers and heavier trailers may require a 2-5/16" ball. Check the listing specs and confirm with the owner that your vehicle's hitch class and tow rating are compatible before booking.
What size trailer do I need for a one-bedroom apartment move?
A 6×10 or 6×12 open utility trailer handles most one-bedroom moves, furniture, boxes, and appliances. If you have bulky items or a large couch, consider a 7×14 or larger. When in doubt, size up, it's easier to have extra space than to make two trips.
Do towlos hosts offer delivery in the Hacienda Heights area?
Some do. When searching, look for listings that mention delivery or message the owner directly. Delivery is especially useful if you don't have a truck or hitch set up. Many local hosts are flexible and happy to arrange drop-off for an additional fee.
Can I rent a trailer one-way?
Most towlos rentals are round-trip, you pick up and return the trailer to the same owner. Some owners allow one-way arrangements; contact them directly to ask. If you're relocating, it's worth messaging a few hosts to see who can accommodate.
