By This month, we’re heading to sweet home Alabama to spotlight our incredible Hosts of the Month: Mike and Gwyn of B’ham Trailer Rentals, a husband-and-wife duo running their growing trailer rental business just south of Birmingham in Alabaster.
What started as a simple side hustle has grown into a thriving local business rooted in community and a shared passion. Gwyn officially owns the business, while Mike handles day-to-day operations and trailer maintenance — all while they both juggle full-time jobs. Together, they’ve built B’ham Trailer Rentals from the ground up, driven by a common goal: to provide reliable, affordable trailers for everyday folks who need a solid tow without the hassle.
Mike’s background in the off-road world — lifting rigs, modifying axles, building bumpers — made the trailer space feel like second nature. After realizing how few dependable trailer rentals existed in their area, the couple launched B’ham Trailer Rentals with a single trailer. Since then, they’ve been reinvesting in top-tier equipment and streamlining the rental experience for their customers.
But their commitment goes beyond rentals — they’re deeply invested in their community. Each year, you’ll find one of their trailers decked out and rolling through the Alabaster Christmas Parade, and they’re proud sponsors of MOB INC, a local car and truck show that brings the automotive community together.
Mike and Gwyn first heard about towlos through other folks in the trailer world and were drawn to how simple and seamless the platform was. “It’s been a great way to connect with more customers,” they said. “We’re excited to be part of a platform that’s growing right here in Birmingham.”

They go above and beyond to keep their trailers in great condition and include extras like heavy-duty straps and loading gear to ensure a smooth experience for every renter. And if you’re wondering what their wildest rental story is? One customer used their car hauler to tow a real airplane. Yep — a first for them, and definitely a story they won’t forget.
