Road Trip to Grid Life Road America
The Birmingham Performance Center hit the road from Birmingham, Alabama, at 5 AM sharp, heading to Grid Life at Road America in Wisconsin. They took both their BMWs: #98 driven by Andrew Rains and #89 driven by Ryan Power. This road trip marked the beginning of an exhilarating adventure filled with high-octane action, cutting-edge performance, and a community of car enthusiasts. As the convoy of top-tier vehicles set off in the early dawn, the team was ready to showcase their passion and expertise on one of the most renowned tracks in the country.
On the Track
The Birmingham Performance Center race team faced a challenging weekend in the GLTC series, compounded by an unexpected car switch. After Ryan Power blew a dyno, the team had to switch their drivers: Rains took over car 89, and Power drove car 98. Despite the obstacles, the team showed remarkable resilience. Power advanced from P47 to P28, demonstrating impressive skill and determination. Meanwhile, Rains made a remarkable climb from P19 to P9 in his new ride. While the weekend didn’t end as hoped, their ability to adapt and make significant progress under tough conditions highlights their competitive spirit and sets a promising tone for future races.
As we wrap up our third Grid Life race, we can’t help but feel proud of what we’ve achieved and learned. Competing at Road America was a wild ride, full of challenges like the unexpected car switch, but our drivers handled it like champs. We’ve grown a lot as a team and had some amazing moments on the track. We’re already looking forward to next year, hoping to get another shot and come back stronger than ever. Thanks for all the support, and we can’t wait to see what next season brings for the Birmingham Performance Center Race Team!
