From One Trailer to a Full Fleet: Mike’s Story

Like a lot of great businesses, Mike’s trailer rental journey started with a simple idea — why not give this a shot?

Mike and his cousin decided to purchase a trailer with the goal of renting it out. It didn’t take long before things started to pick up. One trailer turned into two… then into a full fleet. What started as a side project quickly became something much bigger.

The towlos x FCP Euro Opportunity

Mike heard about towlos through his friend, Justin Martin, who mentioned an opportunity with FCP Euro. They were looking for a trailer to rent for a week of events, and Justin suggested Mike list one of his trailers on towlos.

That one listing led to a successful rental — and kicked off a strong connection with the towlos team. “I’ve been talking with Matt, Jeff, and Justin ever since,” Mike says. “We’ve had a lot of great conversations about what’s working, what could be better, and how to keep growing.”

One idea that came out of those talks? Branding one of his enclosed trailers with the towlos logo — a clean, eye-catching way to rep the platform and help his trailer stand out.

A Fleet for Every Kind of Renter

Today, Mike and his cousin manage a diverse lineup of trailers, including:

  • Car Haulers
  • Utility Trailers
  • Dump Trailers
  • Landscape Trailers
  • Enclosed Trailers
  • Two-Car Haulers

Thanks to that variety, they’re able to serve a wide range of renters — from working professionals to DIY homeowners getting weekend projects done.

“We’ve got something for almost everyone,” Mike says. “Having different trailer types means we can help out with just about any job.”

From Scenic Production to Full-Time Rentals

Before going all-in on trailer rentals, Mike worked for a scenic production company as a shop manager for nine years. It was a job that required attention to detail, logistics, and a lot of problem-solving — skills that now serve him well in the rental world.

These days, Mike is focused on growing the business, serving his customers, and fine-tuning his setup. And once his phone camera is back in action, he’ll be sending in a few photos of his Towlos-branded trailer — and maybe a few of himself in front of the fleet, too.
