The\u00a024 Hours of Lemons<\/strong>\u00a0weekend at\u00a0Barber Motorsports Park<\/strong>\u00a0is officially in the books and it delivered everything Lemons is known for: strong runs, mechanical gremlins, unexpected chaos, and a whole lot of laughs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Towlos was on-site all weekend supporting car #247<\/strong>, and from Friday prep to Sunday heartbreak, it was a weekend we won\u2019t forget anytime soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friday: Testing, prep, and freezing temperatures<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Friday was all about testing and preparation. The team spent the day getting the car dialed in, shaking down any issues, and making sure everything was ready before the race officially kicked off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What we didn\u2019t<\/em> expect? Snow. In Alabama.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was a freezing weekend at Barber, so cold that we couldn\u2019t even keep water sitting out without it starting to freeze. Not exactly what most people picture when they think of racing in the South, but Lemons has a way of keeping things unpredictable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saturday: A strong start and classic Lemons chaos<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Saturday marked the official start of the race, and car #247 came out strong. For a solid stretch, the team was running 7th overall<\/strong>, holding position and putting together consistent laps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As expected, the track saw its fair share of Lemons chaos throughout the day. One car spun out, another caught fire, and while both incidents caused delays, the most important thing was that everyone involved was okay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Later in the afternoon, after a driver swap, the team noticed something wasn\u2019t quite right. A closer inspection revealed an issue with the front left hub<\/strong>. The car was brought into the paddock, and the crew got to work making repairs and setting things up for a return on Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sunday morning: Waffles, hot cocoa, and race day optimism<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Sunday started cold \u2014 really<\/em> cold \u2014 but morale was high. Drew and Maggie fired up breakfast for the team, cooking waffles and hot cocoa<\/strong> in the paddock to help everyone warm up before heading back on track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was one of those small moments that perfectly sums up Lemons: freezing weather, race cars, friends, and a hot waffle in your hand before going racing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the hub issue fixed, car #247 was back out and running well, logging laps and staying competitive through the morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sunday afternoon: A tough ending, but a great weekend<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Then, with just 30 minutes left in the race<\/strong>, Lemons delivered one final twist. A Mustang made contact with car #247, forcing the team out of the race and bringing the weekend to an early end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s endurance racing, especially at Lemons. Sometimes you finish strong, sometimes the race finishes you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why weekends like this matter<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Despite the cold, the setbacks, and the late heartbreak, it was an incredible weekend. The team ran well, the car showed real potential, and the paddock was filled with the kind of community that makes grassroots motorsports special.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
